Construction of new cricket facility completed for Uppingham Town Cricket Club
In 2007, Uppingham Town Cricket Club purchased 8 acres of land on which they planned to construct their own cricket facilities for their senior and junior sides to play and practice. As the project was to be part grant-funded by the ECB, the club was required to appoint an independent consultancy with the necessary knowledge and technical expertise.
The club approached Total Turf Solutions (TTS) to carry out a site assessment and provide the relevant technical documentation to accompany their funding application to the ECB for the development of two cricket squares, one 12-pitch and one 8-pitch, and the outfield area.
As part of its involvement, TTS provided the club with a detailed specification of works, which included a detailed Bill of Quantities, and technical drawings, that ensured an effective comparison between tenders. TTS also provided all of the relevant tender documentation, carried out a tender review and appointed the main contactors for the project.
The project was completed during June 2009 and the club is very pleased with the end result.
“Uppingham Town Cricket Club used TTS as consultants on their relocation to a new ground incorporating 2 cricket squares and outfields. The Club found the services provided by TTS in planning and overseeing the laying of these cricket surfaces to be very professional and informed, ensuring that the facilities provided are top class and in line with ECB standards.”
