Practice Facilities
No cricket ground is complete without a non-turf practice facility. total-play’s non-turf practice facility provides an essential all-weather resource for cricket grounds. Our practice areas incorporate all the elements of the ECB Approved Design and will be built to your requirements, with any number of bays and to varying lengths.
total-play practice areas boast a number of unique features and benefits, making it the non-turf system of choice.
The total-play system, a new standard in non-turf pitch Performance and Safety:
- Minimized risk of 'trip hazards' and the elimination of traction issues. Each lane is covered with one piece of the ‘total-play365’ surface carpet. The two-tone design eliminates the need for a different fill-in or surrounding carpet, and provides the same level of traction across the entire playing surface. The only joins are between the bays!
- Ridge free surfaces. The entire playing area is constructed as one surface. The system does not include internal frameworks or hard areas which create trip hazards and uneven bounce.
- Reduced chance of strain or injury. The inclusion of shock absorbers in the bowler’s run-up and landing areas reduces the level of impact on the player’s bodies.
- Maximum system stability and longevity. Systems are built with concrete curbs and cement edging that guarantees the stability of the playing surface. In addition the installation of a permanent edging allows the playing surface to be constructed to the correct performance gradients.
- Robust netting systems. total-play net systems are installed using key clamps and the finest galvanised tubular steel with a high resistance to water or humidity. All frameworks are secured using steel sockets and netting is anchored with tension wires. Systems are also designed to include 'batting curtains', which surround the batsman and prevent injury from the adjacent bay.
- In-House Professional Installation Team. All systems are installed by an exclusive team of professional sports turf contractors and utilize the latest laser guided equipment and machinery. The team is capable of building any system including drainage systems and bespoke designs.
- Quality Assurance. All systems are built in accordance with strict and detailed quality assurance procedures. All components, construction processes and playing performance are guaranteed the meet industry recognized Performance Quality Standards (PQS).
total-play’s Netting System
Systems are also designed to include 'batting curtains', which surround the batsman and prevent injury from the adjacent bay.
The securing of netting at the base of the framework can be completed in two ways. The use of wire cables create a permanent hold while rubber cord provides a versatile system, enabling netting to be lifted and hung out of the reach when not in use.
Netting systems can be modified to suit individual requirements:
- Colour of netting
- Colour of steel work (powder coating)
- Installation of Security Fencing
- Batting Curtains
- Securing Netting
