Surveying

3D model of site surveyGround surveys are the starting point for any construction project. To perform effective design projects and contractor monitoring, TTS utilises ground surveying and 3D Digital Terrain Mapping (DTM) software. Using the latest in Total Station surveying equipment and state of the art software, detailed topographical maps and 3D designs are produced.

Total Stations surveying equipment is used to measure and record current site conditions. This information is then downloaded in to specialist 3D modelling software. The software enables the project designer to accurately calculate distances, gradients, areas and volumes. This precise information is then used to complete the design process. The software creates 3D visual plans making it possible for the designer to interact and receive input from the client.

"Communication between client and designer is essential, to fulfil any project. The ability to provide design images and modify them, in front of the customer, is a great benefit".

The DTM software and total station equipment can also be used in the construction and contractor monitoring process.
Coordinates taken from the design plans are downloaded in to the Total Station equipment which then enables markers to be laid out, identifying the project blue print. This process of 'staking out' guarantees an accurate layout of a design and positioning of features, including; playing surfaces, drainage, irrigation points, fencing etc.

The design data can also be used for machine controlled constructions, guiding graders to build faster and more accurate constructions.
The same equipment can also be used to monitor and quantify works ensuring projects have been built to design specifications and quantities. A factual quality and quantity control system.
